To begin with, Doed Asfalt was an attempt at playing music that would fit what the name designates: the kind of road that takes forever to get through although nothing seems to hold you back. Similarly, Doed Asfalt is rock music played really fast, but limited to a few, simple ideas. It never really goes anywhere, while putting a lot of effort into doing just that. From the original idea of guitarist and singer, Esben, Doed Asfalt has developed into that classic rock format, the trio, with Emil on bass and Anders on drums. It’s fast and it’s hopefully fun.
In 2023 Doed Asfalt released their first EP Hesitant which was played on DR P6 Beat. Critics could hear references such as Psyched Up Janis, Jay Reatard, Dinosaur Jr. and Hüsker Dü. Doed Asfalt will soon release their debut album which is recorded and mixed by Jens Benz (Iceage, Yung, etc.).
