Become part of the SPOT Crew

Each year, several hundred skilled, enthusiastic and hard-working volunteers play a crucial role in ensuring that SPOT can be run professionally and painless. These are also known as the SPOT Crew. As a SPOT volunteer, you help to create a good atmosphere and and spread the festive vibe throughout the festival, as you are part of representing SPOT when you’re in contact with the guests, the musicians, the suppliers and the other volunteers.

As a part of the SPOT Crew, the starting point is that you work one day (the number of hours to be worked depends on the shift), and then you have the rest of the festival off to listen to music and enjoy the great atmosphere. As a volunteer, you become part of a collective of committed and indispensable workers who manage to make things easier – and whom help to put a spotlight on Danish and Nordic music both at home and abroad. In addition, you get a full SPOT ticket, as well as food and beverages during your shift. Many of our volunteers return year after year, and we’re always happy to welcome both familiar faces and new people to the SPOT Crew.

Hvert år spiller flere hundrede dygtige, entusiastiske og hårdtarbejdende frivillige en afgørende rolle for, at SPOT kan blive en succes. Som som en del af SPOT Crewet er du med til at skabe den gode stemning gennem hele festivalen, da du er en del af festivalens ansigt udadtil i kontakten med gæsterne, musikerne, partnerne og de øvrige frivillige.

Når du melder dig som frivillig, er udgangspunktet, at du arbejder en dag (antal timer, der skal arbejdes afhænger af vagten), og så har du resten af festivalen fri til at lytte til musik og nyde den gode stemning. Som frivillig bliver du en del SPOTs Crew – et kollektiv af engagerede og uundværlige personer – som udover at få tingene til at køre, også er med til at sætte fokus på dansk og nordisk musik i både ind- og udland. Derudover får du en SPOT-billet til begge dage, samt forplejning under din vagt. Du kan læse mere om de forskellige arbejdsområder for årets festival herunder på siden, så du kan se, hvilken type vagt der kunne passe til dig.

Mange af vores frivillige vender tilbage år efter år, og vi er altid glade for at kunne sige velkommen til både velkendte ansigter og nye folk!

EN DK

The Practical

Preparing the site, setting up fences, stage(s) being built, other things being built, everything being stripped down after the festival, sweeping at night, sweeping during the day, stand-by

If your hands are good, and you are not afraid to take hold, then the practical group is just for you. Your guards can land anywhere on the festival grounds, e.g. in the kitchen or on the “floor”, where you help ensure that everything is folded and ready before, during and after SPOT. Some, but not many, of the shifts in this group are placed before and after the music starts.

Den praktiske

Hvis dine hænder er godt skruet på, og du ikke er bange for tage fat, så er de praktiske opgaver lige noget for dig. Din vagt kan være hvor som helst på festivalen, hvor din hjælp er med til at sikre, at alt er som det skal være før, under og efter festivalen. Nogle af vagterne i denne gruppe kan være placeret før eller efter musik-programmet.

The Technical

Stagehand, building scenes, fire watch, stand-by

If technical skill and understanding are one of your core competencies, then you are needed in the technical group. Both before and during SPOT, there will be a need for volunteers with technical understanding and a good overview who can take shifts as stagehands, fire watchers and stage builders. You help to get the technical things in place before the festival, as well as make sure things run as they should backstage when the music is playing.

Den tekniske

Hvis du er typen, der gerne vil være stage-hand, bygge scener ,eller hvis dine tekniske eller specifikke færdigheder bare er helt i top, så tilhører du helt sikkert denne gruppe. Både før og under SPOT er der behov for frivillige med teknisk forståelse og et stærkt overblik, der kan tage vagter som stagehands, brandmænd og scenebyggere. Din hjælp kan sikre, at vi har tingene på plads før festivalen, men den kan i dén grad også sikre, at tingene går som smurt backstage, når musikken spiller.

The Social

Bar attendant, volunteer lounge, ad hoc tasks, stand-by

If you enjoy entertaining others and have a creative eye, then someone like you is needed in the social group. Here, the work tasks can consist of, among other things, decorating the different areas of the site, making sure to have fun with your fellow volunteers before they have to go on the road again, or being the festival’s octopus who can step in where needed – always in a good mood . If you can see the possibilities in the different frameworks that are on SPOT, then this is the group you should tick.

Den sociale

Hvis du elsker at underholde andre og har et øje for det kreative, så har vi brug for sådan en som dig til de sociale opgaver. Her kan opgaverne blandt andet indebære at stå i en af vores barer, forskellige ad-hoc opgaver, at være festivalpladsens blæksprutte, underholde de andre frivillige før de er på farten igen – og sikre at humøret er så højt, som det kan blive. Hvis du kan se dig selv være i kontakt med mange af de forskellige opgaver, som SPOT kan tilbyde, er den her gruppe lige noget for dig.

The Service Minded

Ticket exchange / check-in, bandroom catering, volunteer caterer, bar attendant, stand-by

If you have the great service gene, and you are ready to make sure that guests, musicians and fellow volunteers are not missing anything, then this is the work group you should look at. Here, the focus is on making things work, plus good service and a smile. Among other things, you can help exchange tickets for wristbands, check the musicians in for accreditation or make sure that the other volunteers don’t run out of snacks and water during their shifts.

Den service-mindede

Hvis du bare har et stærkt servicegen og er klar til at sørge for, at gæster, musikere og dine med-frivillige ikke mangler noget, så er det her gruppen for dig. Her er fokus på at få tingene til at fungere, men også at levere arbejdet med fokus på service og et smil. Du kan eksempelvis hjælpe til i billetombytningen, lave check-in af musikerne i akkrediteringen eller være med til at sørge for, at de frivillige aldrig løber tør for snacks eller vand i løbet af deres vagter.
