Behind the artist name CEVIL is singer, songwriter, and producer Cecilie Vahle. Since childhood, Cecilie has been writing songs and spending countless hours in the rehearsal space in the attic of her parents’ barn on Djursland, completely absorbed in the many facets of music.
With her uncompromising pop sound, infused with hints of retro and hyperpop, CEVIL draws inspiration from a wide range of musical corners. From St. Vincent to HAIM and Caroline Polachek, her influences revolve around an anti-manufactured sound that radiates integrity, an integrity that clearly shines through in CEVIL’s own musical catalogue.
In autumn 2023, CEVIL made her single debut with ‘Don’t Speak’, followed by a handful of versatile releases, including “‘20 BPM’, which premiered on Soundvenue and P3. She has since graced the cover of Spotify’s official Dansk Indieplaylist multiple times, received airplay on P6 BEAT and P4, and was booked as a support act for St. Vincent at HEARTLAND/at/NOMA.
Most recently, Soundvenue named the single ‘OLIVER!’ feat. Vilma Crow as one of the best songs of 2025, and CEVIL has also received two nominations at the Danish Alternative Music Awards. In 2026, CEVIL returns with even more new music.
