CARLLO YABOY is a Danish/Ghanaian Afro-pop artist who grew up on Blågårds Plads in Copenhagen's Nørrebro district.
Carllo writes, produces and plays all instruments himself, and his sound is an international blend of modern pop melodies over African Afro-beats, with organic instruments added, most often with the guitar in focus, which is his main instrument. His unique musical expression is shaped by the combination of growing up in a Western Metropolitan city with his Danish mother, where they danced and sang along to Michael Jackson, and at the same time being the son of one of Ghana's most prominent highlife musicians.
Carllo saved for his first electric guitar by busking on the streets of Copenhagen when he was just 6 years old, and his early start as a street musician has really helped give him his admirable courage and huge self-confidence on stage.
Despite his young age, he has already toured for several years as the musical director, guitarist and bassist for established Danish artists such as JJ Paulo, Michael Williams and Skinz, and even though his own artist career is taking off just now, the audience can really look forward to a completely magical energy release when Denmark's, perhaps most stage-accustomed upcoming artist, CARLLO YABOY takes the stage.
