Misty Coast is the dream pop child of Linn Frøkedal and Richard Myklebust, known from the Norwegian noise rock act The Megaphonic Thrift. They are known for their strong guitar hooks, distinctive bass lines and catchy, dreamy vocal melodies, and parallels can be drawn to bands such as Cocteau Twins, Mazzy Star and Broadcast. After ten years on the road with amplifiers turned to 11, tours supporting indie heroes like Dinosaur Jrand Steven Malkmus, a Norwegian Grammy (Spellemannprisen) sitting on the shelf, mild tinnitus and odd jobs back home to add on the rock’n’roll salary, Frøkedal and Myklebust decided to adjust the recipe and cook up a new witch’s brew.
Since Misty Coast’s debut album in 2017, the band has been on tour in Japan, the UK and Europe, played a number of club concerts and festivals in Norway, been nominated for the Norwegian Grammy and garnered rave reviews at home and abroad. In 2021 Misty Coast released their third album ‘When I Fall from the Sky’, produced by Emil Nikolaisen (Serena-Maneesh). They are now ready to show the world some new music, and have yet again teamed up with producer Matias Tellez (Young Dreams, girl in red). The singles ‘The End of the Beginning’, ‘Brainchild’ and ‘The Crossing’ were released in 2022, while the duo's newest album ‘Nevereverending’ was released October 2023.
