With her powerful voice, don’t-fuck-with-me energy, and unmistakable authenticity, Ana Juél has quickly made her mark on the Danish R&B scene. Behind the name is Aarhus-based Jean Anastasia Juman Elbæk, whose multicultural background shines clearly through her artistry. Carrying her Guyanese roots into everything she does, she creates a sound that feels international.
Her strong laid-back productions deliver messages reminding you to stand up for yourself, each other and to keep your head held high - a mindset she embraced from a young age, inspired by her icon Natasja. The sass and fearless attitude in her expression draw clear parallels to another icon, Rihanna. All of these elements come together in a strong live performance that seamlessly blends powerful vocals and rowdy guitar riffs with choreography, attitude and feel-good-energy.
Even at an early stage in her solo career, Ana Juél has already received significant recognition, including a nomination for GAFFA’s “R&B Name of the Year.” And after her first international performance Norwegian radio described it as “watching an artist in an intimate setting who should be performing on huge stages.” And this summer, that is exactly what is going to unfold.
In the spring 2025 she released her striking debut EP ‘You Don’t Have to Love Me’ which, ironically, makes it almost impossible not to.
