GIMI is a Danish/Kosovo-Albanian artist, songwriter and producer - heavily inspired by MTV/pop culture of the early 00s and Albanian traditional music. Infused with humor and irony, GIMI has woven a lyrical tapestry of romance, sensuality and longing, serving as the cornerstone of his genre-defying pop universe. His music sparkles with opulent and whimsical electronic elements, engaging the listener in an exhilarating dance between provocation and warm embrace.
GIMI has Kosovo-Albanian parents, grew up in Padborg (small bordertown in South Denmark) moved to London as a young adult and now lives in Copenhagen. Many different places feel like home to him, and the journeys he has been on both personally and musically has led him to his upcoming debut album coming out summer 2025!
With support from BBC Introducing, heavy rotation on Swiss Radio 3Fach and write ups and premieres on German magazines KALTBLUT and C-Heads, GIMI’s music has generated buzz in the emerging European pop underground scene, resulting in him playing main stage at Copenhagen Pride 2023.
Championed by 'The Line of Best Fit’ calling his music sultry and intense and featured on the renowned US pop culture magazine Paper Magazine’s list of ‘50 LGBTQ+ Musicians You Should Prioritise,’ GIMI has spent the last year performing all over Denmark and recently in Kosovo for Prishtina Queer Festival 2024, with his upbeat, unifying and energising performance.
GIMI is set to release his debut album on June 6th 2025, marking a new era for GIMI and his pop universe.
