Tabloid is a collective of five of the country's leading musicians from the pop and jazz scene. Together, they create music that reminds us not to judge or limit ourselves. So far, this has resulted in three albums inspired by 1980s funk and fusion jazz, incorporating elements from everything from country to J-pop.
Despite having roots in a high-cultural musical tradition, they are not afraid to appeal to a broad audience with effective compositions and catchy, singable melodies. One might even go so far as to say that the musical ping-pong between the band's multifaceted musicians has a certain "gossiping" quality. The band certainly thinks so, which is why their new album is titled ‘Hot Gossip’.
Tabloid’s collective résumé is impressive, featuring Jada’s musical right-hand man, Malthe Rostrup; one half of Bremer/McCoy, Jonathan Bremer; the most renowned saxophonist of the new jazz generation, Oilly Wallace; drummer Felix Ewert, known from acts such as Nik & Jay and Alex Vargas; and guitarist, composer, and initiator Johannes Wamberg, who also plays with artists like Coco O. and Emma Sehested Høeg.
