PAYDAR is known for their energetic and unpredictable DJ sets, where the audience is invited on an experimental and cultural journey. Through their Southeast Asian heritage, their upbringing in the Nordics, and a sense of belonging nowhere, floating in between it all, in the middle of the beats. PAYDAR’s music weaves together past, present, and future, taking listeners through sounds of amapiano, hip-hop, baile funk, afro, Arabic house, and more.
In Sabba Paidar’s childhood home, the family mostly listened to Iranian music from the 90s. Over time, PAYDAR discovered new sounds like house and hip-hop, and with their debut EP ‘Middlebeatz’, PAYDAR created a sound that connects their Iranian roots with club culture.
Individuality, community, and identities existing side by side is the essence of a PAYDARlive set, a space that celebrates everyone. They’ve brought that energy to small clubs, events, and stages such as Apollo at Roskilde Festival.
PAYDAR continues to produce and release new music, most recently the album ‘2630’ and the collaborative album ‘Salamati’ with Arshia.
