Danish singer-songwriter Karoline Funder moves within an organic, guitar-driven sonic universe inspired by the American indie folk scene. The themes in Funder’s music are deeply rooted in emotional and relational turbulence, and her reflective and honest songwriting captures the intense complexity of close relationships. She sings about the unspoken things that trouble and scare us—how we connect to and become dependent on one another. As music magazine GAFFA put it: "Few Danish artists can weave the anxiety of difficult relationships into such delicate sonic patterns as Karoline Funder."
When Karoline Funder released her debut single, ‘Vores Forhandling’, in March 2024, it was met with overwhelming praise. With just two singles out, she made her live debut at the festival Syd For Solen in the summer of 2024 and in the fall, she followed up with her third single, ‘Jeg Hader At Jeg Tænkte At Du Lignede En Engel’, a precursor to her upcoming EP set for release in early 2025. Funder has also been selected as one of six artists for VEGA's Udvalgte 2025, marking her as a standout talent to watch.
