With his minimalist songs, Forræder conveys a sense of general inadequacy in response to loss and in relation to a world in decay. It is the sound of a fragile yet confrontational voice, wrapped in dry guitars, wind instruments, and noise, channeled through a curious indie singer-songwriter universe.
The songwriter behind the project, Viktor Ravn, is also the lead singer and guitarist of the hardcore band Demersal, which has toured Europe multiple times and released two albums. Forræder is Viktor’s solo project, where the same intensity is expressed in a new, intimate format. Here, the music moves effortlessly across genres, unfolding in a naïve tension between longing and contempt, between hope and restlessness, and between trust and betrayal.
