Demersal is about care and a striving to find community in a world that feels like it’s falling apart. As a counterpoint to the idea of the strong individual, the band circles around the universal aspects of human crises. Their soundscape blends aggressive elements from hardcore with intimate, indie-pop-leaning melodies, woven together with acoustic instrumentation and orchestral string and brass arrangements. All of it is carried by a shared core of four vocalists who come across as strong and fragile at the same time.
The band has toured across Europe and Japan, in addition to playing Danish festivals such as Uhørt, A Colossal Weekend, Ilter Festival, and Copenhagen Metal Fest. They have also received recognition from major international media outlets like Stereogum and BrooklynVegan.
