Since his debut in 2003, Rumpistol has evolved into one of his generation’s most inquisitive electronic composers. In recent years, his music has moved in a more vulnerable and sensory direction - a journey that began with the neoclassical album After the Flood (2020), created during a period of stress, when he set aside the computer in favor of piano and strings.
This approach continued to develop on Isola (2022) and reached its full expression on ‘Going Inside’ (2023), a work crafted for inner journeys and psychedelic therapy. In parallel, Rumpistol has also made his mark as part of Kalaha(winners of both the Danish Music Award and the Carl Prize) and in KALEIIDO, which in 2024 received the Carl Prize for “Jazz Composer of the Year”.
For more than two decades, Jens B. Christiansen, aka Rumpistol, has explored the boundaries between electronic music, jazz, space rock, and neoclassical composition. His sonic universe has always orbited the transcendent and on stage, it unfolds like a spaceship of light, rhythm, and emotion.
