Plum and I combines jazz, electronica and strong songwriting into their own genre of music. When Plum and I enters the stage it’s with a strong presence, beautiful melodies and delicate improvisations - and a sound that stretches from the most intimate to the large concert hall. That’s why Plum and I appeals beyond the ordinary jazz audience.
Since their debut EP ‘For Me He Was A Passenger’ (2023) the band have played around most of Denmark, been in radio rotation on DR P8, and most recently they released their album Glowing/Gone in 2024.
With Glowing/Gone Plum and I takes the listener on the journey that starts in a grand concert hall and ends up in a nightclub in the middle of the night. The album opens with a contemporary jazz sound, recorded live as an orchestra in the studio, with trumpet, guitar, percussion and double bass. The song ‘All of The Time’, marks the transition to the electronic side of the album where the band brings the listener into a world consisting of big synth pads, minimalist drum machines, glitchy beats and singer/songwriter-esque melodies.
On Glowing/Gone Plum and I explores the acoustic versus the processed - the organic juxtaposed with the synthetic - the controllable with the uncontrollable.
