Pumpegris is a folk-fusion band that playfully blends the old and the new, the humorous and the serious. Strongly inspired by Norwegian folk music, West African music, shoegaze, and the singer-songwriter genre, they create pop music. They focus on groove, Norwegian traditional dance tunes, and quick but bittersweet lyrics.

NRK has described the ensemble with the words: “Finesse and ballad - Pumpegris truly don’t care and invite people into it.”

Their debut album ‘Fritids’ was released in February 2025, produced by Tuva Syvertsen and released by Talik Records. The album received glowing reviews from newspapers and music media, and it was one of the reasons they received the prestigious “Shooting Star of the Year” award at By:Larm 2025.


Pumpegris er et folk-fusionsband, der legende blander det gamle og det nye, det humoristiske og det seriøse. Kraftigt inspireret af norsk folkemusik, vestafrikansk musik, shoegaze og singer-songwriter-genren skaber de popmusik. De fokuserer på groove, norske traditionelle danseviser og kvikke, men bittersøde tekster.

NRK har beskrevet orkestret med ordene “Finesse og ballade - Pumpegris er ægte ligeglade og inviterer folk med ind i det.”

Deres debutalbum ‘Fritids’ udkom i februar 2025, og det er produceret af Tuva Syvertsen og udgivet af Talik Records. Albummet fik strålende anmeldelser af aviser og musikmedier, og det var en af årsagerne til, at de modtog den prestigefyldte pris “Årets Shooting Star” på By:Larm 2025.
