With a powerful voice, a deeply resonant sonic world, and a talent for writing songs that connect deeply personal experiences with imagery from the Nordic landscape, the Finnish songwriter and singer Mirja Klippel has established herself as a remarkable talent on the alternative folk scene.
Her debut EP ‘Lift Your Lion’ already earned the Denmark-based musician a Danish Music Award Folk for “Songwriter of the Year.” Since then, she has toured extensively across Europe and the North Atlantic and released two more albums. Her latest album, ‘Slow Coming’ Alive, received three nominations at the Danish Music Awards Roots in 2021.
Together with her longtime collaborator Alex Jønsson, she draws audiences into an organic and atmospheric universe, where personal experiences open up psychological depths, and where intimate spaces go hand in hand with raw and untamed landscapes.
