gubbi is a Danish folk project by Gustav Bejder Jensen, who is the frontman and co-founder of Høker. gubbi writes intimate songs where musical sensitivity and big themes are blended with a quirky and poetic lyrical universe and an organic sound, rooted in gubbi's singer-songwriter background and inspirations such as Elliott Smith, Alex G, and Big Thief.
In November 2024, gubbi released his debut EP 'Heldigvis, heldigvis', which encapsulates the quirkiness and humanity that characterize gubbi's musical work. On the EP, gubbi reflects on the emotions and struggles he has experienced in his close relationships and on becoming a more emotionally whole person. The EP received positive recognition from Soundvenue.
Behind gubbi stands Gustav Bejder Jensen, who is also the lead singer and co-founder of Høker, a band that won KarriereKanonen in 2019, played concerts all over Denmark, opened for Minds of 99 at the Royal Arena, and received Ugens Uundgåelige on P3 with the song 'Ud af dig'.
