Suaré (Virginie) DEMBELE is a Malian musician and singer who hails from the Bo region in the Ségou area and the San circle (located in the southeast) of Mali.
With her band she presents the music and the traditions of her people. With a great energy, a beautiful voice and a special instrument that she builds herself, a mix of a guitar and the traditional instrument ngoni, she captures the audience with authenticity and intensity. She renews the traditions, and she challenges the gender expectations in Mali as an instrumentalist.
Her dream is to become the new international star from Mali. She had vocal studies at Fondation Passerelle which is founded by the Malian superstar Rokia Traoré. While studying she attended church Choirs and different bands and quit rapidly, she formed her own orchestra with high ambitions, and soon she raised her carrier to a professional level.

challenges as a woman in the business. In Mali the difficulties are even more challenging both culturally, politically, and financially. It takes a strong woman to insist on her right to play music and be ambitious.
Suaré became the selected artist from the Danish facilitated Spot on Mali festival 2024 to be invited to Denmark to play at SPOT in Aarhus 2025. Spot on Mali festival will support Suaré Virginie Dembele with this tour.
