Are We Already Tired of the Gender Debate?
Balancing Activism, Research, and Entrepreneurship in the Music Industry
Networking meeting with presentations (by invitation only)
How can we continue to stand united on an important issue?
How do we celebrate progress while significant imbalances still remain?
How can statistics, research, and complex equality issues be communicated clearly, briefly, and effectively?
The Danish network for women and gender minorities, FMB2019, follows up on last year’s networking meeting at SPOT+, titled “What Happens When Women and Gender Minorities Gain Power?”—a gathering for women and gender minorities in positions of power and gatekeeping roles within the music industry.
This year, the question is: “Are we already tired of the gender debate?”
How do we maintain momentum in the work for equality in the music industry without losing nuance or engagement?
The networking meeting focuses on the balance between activism, research, and entrepreneurship, and explores how to continue building a united front around a complex and important issue. FMB2019 will examine how successes can be celebrated while still acknowledging the structural challenges that persist. In addition, the session will address how statistics, research, and complex issues can be communicated in a clear, concise, and effective way—so that more people can take part in both the conversation and the actions that follow.
The conversation will be hosted and moderated by the co-chairs of FMB2019, Pernille-Leeloo and Rikke Østergaard.
