Under his own name, Emil Kruse found his very own hip-hop style. Before breaking through with his more pop-infused, house-inspired, and lyrically driven hip-hop, Kruse experimented with grime and even dabbled in ‘90s hip-hop. The young artist, who made the journey from the suburbs to the big city and from the underground to the spotlight, has grown into a fully realized artist with something to say.
Emil Kruse's musical journey began in Vangede, where he discovered hip-hop and formed the duo Sleng. Inspired by grime and Danish artists like Stanley Most, he found his own voice and artistic expression. After getting a taste of the music industry with Sleng, he returned to his roots as a hip-hop producer, exploring a melodic and poetic universe under the name Aesthetic.
In 2016, Emil Kruse debuted as a solo artist with the album ‘Slumromantiker’. The album struck a poetic chord, received critical acclaim, and established Emil as a talented artist with a unique sound and lyrical universe.
A lot has happened since his debut, including the release of his second album in 2022 and the Strunge-referencing ‘Væbnet Med Vinger’, which was named P3’s Ugens Uundgåelige. 2025 is set to mark yet another exciting year for Emil Kruse, with new projects on the horizon.
