In recent years, there has been a growing interest from the industry in the field of music publishing, and therefore, we dedicate Friday morning at SPOT+ to a whole seminar on the topic: Let’s Talk Music Publishing. The day kicks off with the debate “The Music Publisher – do I need anybody else?“, where Charlotte Paludan (EWH), Christian Fløe Svenningsen (GL Music), Olivia Junget (Tigerspring), Nicolas Blix (Mantik Music Group), and Tim Toth (CTM) with Niels Mosumgaard as moderator (Grønnere Musik and DSA), will delve into the versatile tasks that lie on the music publisher’s plate. Then it’s time to learn about “New Business Models for Songs – fees and points in a streaming economy“, as how should songwriters and producers actually be compensated? Here you’ll get perspectives from publisher Steffen Strojeck (Official Music/Universal), A&R Manager Erkan Cakmak (Sony Music Denmark), and songwriter Julie Aagaard a.k.a. KillJ. Track That & SheCanPlay have launched a new initiative aimed at creating more diversity in the country’s music studios, drawing inspiration from Sweden. Hear Swedish producers and songwriters Barbara Chamoun and Natali Noor talk about this in “A new collaboration aims to strengthen diversity in the studios“, moderated by Karen Vincent (Warner Music Denmark and SheCanPlay). The seminar concludes with the panel “Financing and investment opportunities for recorded music“, where we take a closer look at the new business model for selling and investing in music rights. Frederik Juul (Université Sorbonne Paris Nord) moderates as some of the industry’s sharpest minds discuss the pros and cons. Meet Laura Littauer from Sundance Music, Thomas Børresen from Labelmade Records & Management, Jens Skov Thomsen from Dansk Artist Forbund, and Jens Otto Paludan from Beatbread.
