After a strong finale in 2024 – which many believed would be the last – the Folk Spot Denmark project is fortunately returning as part of the program at Tønder Festival. Thanks to renewed financial support from the Danish Parliament, following strong advocacy for folk music by Charlotte Broman Mølbæk (SF), SPOT and Tønder Festival are once again able to present a Folk Spot lineup featuring prominent and innovative names from the Danish and Nordic folk music scene.
Since 2012, Folk Spot Denmark has served as an important platform for bringing Danish and Nordic folk and roots music to the international market. Each year, the project attracts industry professionals and festival organizers from around the world, offering them the opportunity to experience the music live in the unique setting of Tønder Festival.
This year’s Folk Spot program offers a diverse lineup of artists, ranging from the traditional to the genre-defying, together painting a rich and contemporary portrait of the modern folk music scene.
Look forward to performances by ULD, VÍÍK, Elias Rønnenfelt, Trinelise Væring, Thorbjørn Risager & the Black Tornado, and Sunbörn.
With this strong lineup, Folk Spot Denmark continues its mission to showcase the breadth and quality of contemporary folk – and to open new doors for Danish artists abroad.
Folk Spot Denmark will take place during Tønder Festival on August 29th–30th, 2025, and the concerts will be open to both the festival audience and invited international guests.
Efter en stærk afslutning i 2024 – som mange troede ville blive den sidste – er projektet Folk Spot Denmark heldigvis tilbage som en del af programmet på Tønder Festival. Eksport- og showcaseprojektet har fået ny økonomisk opbakning fra Folketinget efter Charlotte Broman Mølbæk (SF) talte folkemusikkens sag, og derfor kan SPOT, sammen med Tønder Festival, igen i år præsentere et Folk Spot-lineup af markante og nyskabende navne fra den danske og nordiske folkemusikscene.
Folk Spot Denmark har siden 2012 fungeret som en vigtig platform for at bringe dansk og nordisk folk- og rootsmusik ud til det internationale marked. Projektet tiltrækker hvert år branchefolk og festivalarrangører fra hele verden, som får mulighed for at opleve musikken live i unikke rammer på Tønder Festival.
Årets Folk Spot-program byder på en alsidig række artister, der spænder fra det traditionelle til det genre-udforskende, og tilsammen tegner de et bredt og aktuelt billede af den moderne folkemusikscene.
