The Swedish multi-instrumentalist Gustaf Ljunggren is well known to SPOT Festival audiences as the anchor of the recurring concert series, Naked.
At an intimate solo concert, Gustaf will present music from his new album ‘Along The Low Road’, which is released the same day. The music was recorded in Iceland together with the Icelandic musician Skúli Sverrisson.
As a continuation of the successful 2022 album ‘Floreana’, Ljunggren’s new release invites the listener into a reflective, immersive sonic world shaped by minimalism, jazz, early music, and Nordic folklore. The compositions unfold with patience and clarity, balancing elements of sensitivity and stability in a sound that feels both grounded and dreamlike.
The concert at SPOT will be characterized by immediacy, attentiveness, and dynamism, where every moment is new. Gustaf Ljunggren’s music calls for listening, awareness, and a state of presence, opening a space where silence, tone, and shifts in atmosphere carry equal weight.
‘Along The Low Road’ is an album where gentleness and strength are woven together into a musical space that offers calm, connection, and a sense of perspective.
