Wynd is the new solo project from Danish artist and songwriter Morten Larsen, who, with deep roots in indie folk and the storytelling tradition of folk music, interprets vulnerable emotions through a stripped-back and intimate acoustic soundscape. The project emerged when, after many years working as a producer in LA and London, Morten returned to his hometown in Odsherred, Northwest Sjælland, and recorded a handful of deeply personal songs on a 4-track cassette recorder.
With dusty arrangements of acoustic guitar, harmonica, and violin, Morten lets the lyrics take center stage, where themes of loss and longing are transformed into evocative emotional landscapes. In February, the first single from the project, “Salma,” was released—a tender story about a lost relationship and the overwhelming urge for a person or a feeling. Another single will follow in April before Morten releases his debut EP in August 2026 titled The Shores—a release that reflects the contrast between the emotional turbulence Morten experienced while writing the songs and the calm and isolation that surrounded him in nature.
On stage, Morten creates a more modern take on the folk soundscape by combining samples from his cassette recordings with instrumentation such as acoustic guitar and pedal steel guitar. The result is a stylistically fresh new offering from Wynd, where the listener is drawn in by strong lyrical narratives and a vocal performance full of sincerity.
