SPOT Festival and Tønder Festival are once again joining forces to present the Folk Spot Denmark project in 2026. As part of assembling next year’s lineup, musicians and bands are invited to apply for participation in the upcoming edition of the project, which will, as tradition dictates, take place during Tønder Festival. With this year’s Open Call, both established and emerging folk and roots artists have the opportunity to showcase their music to audiences as well as a number of national and international industry professionals – the latter specially invited to strengthen cross-border networking.
Over the years, Folk Spot Denmark has become an important platform for Nordic folk, giving selected artists the chance to perform showcase concerts for industry representatives from around the world. For many, this opportunity has opened doors to new collaborations, tours, and international markets.
The application process is now officially open and runs from November 25th until December 16th at 14:00. All musicians working with original folk and roots music are encouraged to submit their material. The project emphasizes musicianship, originality, artistic direction, and not least the diverse expressions of the Nordic folk music scene.

SPOT Festival og Tønder Festival er endnu engang klar til i samarbejde at præsentere Folk Spot Denmark-projektet i 2026. Som en af processen med at sammensætte næste års lineup, inviteres musikere og bands til at ansøge om deltagelse i næste års udgave af projektet, der traditionen tro præsenteres under Tønder Festival. Med årets Open Call får både etablerede og spirende folk- og rootsnavne mulighed for at vise deres musik frem for både publikum og en række nationale og internationale branchefolk, hvoraf sidstnævnte gruppe er specielt inviteret for at skabe netværk på tværs af landegrænser.
Folk Spot Denmark har gennem årene udviklet sig til en vigtig platform for nordisk folk, hvor udvalgte artister får chancen for at spille showcase-koncerter for branchefolk fra hele verden. For mange har netop denne mulighed åbnet døre til nye samarbejder, turnéer og internationale markeder.
Ansøgningsprocessen er nu officielt åben, og løber fra 25. november til og med 16. december kl. 14.00. Alle, der arbejder med original folk- og rootsmusik, opfordres til at sende deres materiale ind. Projektet lægger vægt på både musikalitet, originalitet og kunstnerisk retning, og ikke mindst på at vise bredden i den nordiske folkemusikscene.
