SPOT is hiring Constance Hegner as the new head of programming for SPOT+. She will be responsible for coordinating the extensive conference program for the music industry that runs alongside SPOT Festival. At the same time, SPOT can reveal that SPOT+ will be moving into new facilities at Godsbanen.
As head of programming, Constance Hegner will act as the link between the festival, music industry stakeholders and organizations, and the many partners who help shape SPOT+ each year. She has a solid experience in the Danish music and cultural sector, including 12 years as communications manager at the Danish composers’ association DPA (Dansk Populær Autorer), where she helped drive significant development within the organization in close dialogue with the board and members. Constance Hegner has also led several cross-sector collaborations in the music industry, bringing organizations together around shared agendas.
This experience makes her a strong asset for developing SPOT+ as a hub for both the Danish and international music scene.
“I am very excited to take on the role of head of programming for SPOT+. It is a unique platform where the music community can meet across disciplines and interests, and my goal is to ensure that we address the right themes on the agenda, creating meaningful encounters that can inspire and develop the entire music sector,” says Constance Hegner.
SPOT’s director, Rikke Andersen, sees the adding of Constance Hegner as an important step in the development of SPOT+:
“Since SPOT will now be driving SPOT+ forward on our own, it was a natural step to make the organization of the conference an integrated part of SPOT’s daily operations. It has been important for us to find a head of programming who can maintain the big picture and bring together the many parts that make up a program, because we know from Promus’ massive efforts in previous years that it is a major task. We are therefore extremely happy that Constance accepted the role, as she has the experience, network, and dedication needed to strengthen and further develop SPOT+ as an industry platform.”
New Location for SPOT+
Another piece of news for the SPOT+ conference is that from 2026 it will move to Godsbanen. After a successful year at FO-Byen, SPOT found that the space was simply too small to accommodate the many participants. Godsbanen not only provides more room for activities and networking, but is also centrally located in relation to the festival’s other stages and areas.
“Last year’s move was a step in the right direction, but we also experienced that we quickly outgrew the space. With Godsbanen, we get the room and flexibility we need, while bringing the conference closer to the festival’s pulse,” says Rikke Andersen.
SPOT Festival 2026 will take place from April 30th to May 2nd in Aarhus, where SPOT+ will, as always, serve as a hub for knowledge, debate, and networking during the day – now with Constance Hegner as head of programming and Godsbanen as the new venue.
