Over the course of just two days, SPOT Festival hosts more than 250 concerts — and really, who doesn’t love going to a show? SPOT is packed with amazing, big, small, wild, unforgettable, and sometimes even frustrating live experiences. The quality of a concert can depend on many things: the musicians on stage, the setup of the venue, and of course, the mindset and behavior of the audience. This has led SEIN to ask: what actually is good concert etiquette?
That’s why SEINxUMTO invites you to a panel talk on concert culture — where you can hear four concert-savvy guests share their thoughts on why and how we attend concerts, and what shapes the culture and vibe at each one.
The conversation will be moderated by SEIN’s culture editor Laura Rye Bislev, and the panelists are:
-
Thomas Beyer, co-manager of the venue turkis
-
Marie Højlund, Associate Professor in Sound Studies at Aarhus University
-
Frederik from Rakkerpak, who’ll be performing at UMTOxSPOT Friday night
Looking stylish when going to concerts is also a big part of the culture. Just try searching “I shaved my whole body for this concert” on any social media platform and you’ll find countless posts. We’re not asking you to shave anything — but if you swing by our glam station, you can get a fresh fade, biodegradable glitter on your face, or even a brand-new tattoo(!) — so you’ll be fully festival-ready.
