Ria Qvist + Kor is a vocal-based music project in which songwriter and guitarist Ria Qvist takes center stage, allowing her songs to grow into a collective sonic universe. The project brings together the soloist’s personal expression with the voices of five women, arranged in five-part harmonies that create a dynamic balance between intimacy and richness.
The music moves in the intersection of pop, indie, and contemporary choral music, where the organic sound of the guitar meets layered vocal arrangements that function both as a resonant space and as independent co-narrators. Ria Qvist is inspired by Who Killed Bambi and works to develop a form in which the voices play a central and multifaceted role in the music. The songs revolve around themes such as vulnerability, longing, and community, and through the vocal interplay, an expression emerges that can shift from the bare and fragile to the expressive and powerful.
The project has already made its mark by winning a band battle, highlighting both its artistic potential and audience appeal. The goal is to develop concert formats where the audience is invited into a sensory and intimate space, where guitar and five-part vocals together create a musical experience that seeks authenticity and renewal on the Danish music scene.
