On their recently released album, ‘Tender Anger’, the experimental string duo, Lueenas, dives deep into the realms of doom metal, cinematic minimalism and nordic mythology.
Following their acclaimed debut, Ida Duelund (double bass) and Maria Jagd (violins) remain committed to their deeply unique formal language: exploratory string work, slowly rising emotional architectures and majestic, amplified violin and bass worlds that define their sound. ‘Tender Anger’ also sees the duo widen their scope, inviting in prolific collaborators like metal-vocalist Rikke List (Konvent), classical singer Katinka Fogh Vindelev and legendary jazz drummer Jakob Høyer.
For SPOT 2026 Lueenas will be joined by drums and an additional guest appearance by rising star metal singer Marika Hyldmar, whose bashee vocal is known from her current work in the bands Xenoblight and formerly Hedengangne. Together they will interpret ‘Tender Anger’ in an amalgamation of heavy grooves, distorted strings and haunting vocals.
