isho is a duo formed by singer Emilija Jermola and bassist Shona Mélis, whose musical bond grew from their shared Nordic roots and artistic vision. Together, they compose minimalistic, intimate music that transforms life’s natural melancholy into a calming ambient landscape - a place where vulnerability and strength meet.
The duo met at the Music Conservatory in Aalborg, where their collaboration began. Through composing and performing side by side, Emilija and Shona discovered a rare musical sensitivity that connected them deeply. Influenced by artists such as Vega Trail, Svaneborg Kardyb, and Hvalfugl, they decided to create isho and join on a long-lasting musical journey.
