As the music industry evolves, new initiatives and organisations emerge to meet new needs. While this enriches the landscape, it can also lead to fragmentation – with actors working in silos, despite being part of a global, interconnected industry that thrives on collaboration and shared resources.
Over the past decades, regional music competence centres have been established across Norway, each working to strengthen the music industry in their respective areas. In 2019 these seven centres joined forces to create Musikkontoret.no.
Musikkontoret.no is a shared digital platform providing guides, tools, funding calendars, and resources for music professionals, regardless of where they live. It is a concrete example of how long-term collaboration and shared infrastructure can help build a more resilient, inclusive and sustainable music industry.
In this session, we’ll share the story behind Musikkontoret.no – and invite a broader conversation on what’s possible when we pool our efforts and work collectively.
Panelists: Vegard Moberg, general manager, Musikkontoret Brak // Bjørg Helen Handeland, general manager, Musikkontoret Star
Moderator: Søren Kristensen, Head of KORMA
The session will be conducted in English.
