Celebrant moves between indie-folk songwriting and classical composition. At the heart of the project are Scottish songwriter and composer Tom Irvine and Italian singer Laura Zöschg, who together create a musical world shaped by emotional depth, poetic storytelling and rich orchestration.
Their songs explore themes of nostalgia, alienation, transformation and hope – and the idea of “home” in a constantly changing world. The orchestral arrangements are not simply decorative but form the core of Celebrant’s sound, where intimate melodies expand into cinematic and emotionally charged soundscapes.
Celebrant’s performances range from intimate duo sets to larger ensembles with string quartet and even orchestral concerts with up to twenty musicians on stage. Inspired by artists such as Sufjan Stevens, Joanna Newsom and Adrianne Lenker, Celebrant crafts intricate songs that remain direct, moving and deeply connecting.
