Anna Roemer has a unique approach to her instrument and insists that the guitar is capable of far more than the listener might think.
In 2022, Roemer released her debut album ‘Azure’, which critics hailed as a virtuosic record. With her second solo album ‘Blåregn’ (‘Wisteria’), released in March 2024, she draws inspiration from her father's death, delivering a love letter to the person who introduced her to music. This album serves as the focal point of this year’s SPOT concert, where, for the first time, the music will be presented in arrangements for strings. Roemer has collaborated with musicians including Live Johansson on cello and Thorbjørn Kaas on double bass.
Roemer’s focus is on creating soundscapes and sonic universes where listeners witness her patience, strength, and vulnerability. Her works manage to encompass multiple emotions simultaneously. They are at once present and dreamy, gentle and insistent.
