It’s no rocket science that placing an old, established hit in a film, series, or commercial can bring a song back to the top of the charts. However, with the recent resurgence of artists like Kate Bush and Sophie Ellis-Bextor, combined with rapid digital distribution and social media catapulting, this is hardly just the result of the random “right song for the right project.” Perhaps a more thorough strategy is at play from supervisors, publishers, and record labels. These song placements also provide access to a new and young audience, as seen with Nick Cave in Peaky Blinders. In the panel Old songs – new hits: How the right placement can bring you back on the charts! we will delve deeper into this phenomenon with a panel consisting of supervisors Jesper Gadeberg from Musicstylist.com, Samuel Diaz, an independent supervisor, Mette Zähringer from Iceberg Music Group, and Mette Birch Tallamy, Sync and New Business Development Manager at Sony Music Denmark. The panel is moderated by Goran Obad, a supervisor from Ohlogy.
I panelet Old songs – new hits: How the right placement can bring you back on the charts! vil vi se nærmere på dette fænomen med et panel bestående af supervisorerne Jesper Gadeberg fra Musicstylist.com, Samuel Diaz, independent supervisor, Mette Zähringer fra Iceberg Music Group samt Mette Birch Tallamy, synch og new business development Manager hos Sony Music Denmark.
