SPOT Roots is a new initiative and collaboration between SPOT Festival and TEMPI, presented at SPOT Festival in May.
The purpose of SPOT Roots is to increase the visibility and professionalization of the roots genre by showcasing strong artists within Folk, Roots, and Country on a platform that already brings together leading national and international music industry professionals. At the same time, delegates with a particular focus on roots genres will be invited to the festival, giving artists direct access to relevant new contacts and professional networks.
SPOT Roots was presented for the first time at SPOT 2025, featuring a handful of acts under the same concept. From 2026, SPOT Roots will be expanded with more slots for artists and bands from these genres, providing even better opportunities for growth, visibility, and new collaborations.
There is an Open Call for SPOT Roots from January 5 to January 23, during which artists and bands within Folk, Roots, and Country can apply to become part of the initiative. The criteria for applying are that the music must fall within the roots, country, or folk genres, and that the applicant is based in Denmark, Norway, or Sweden.

SPOT Roots er et nyt initiativ og samarbejde mellem SPOT Festival TEMPI, som præsenteres på SPOT Festival i maj.
Formålet med SPOT Roots er at øge synligheden og professionaliseringen af roots-genreområdet ved at præsentere stærke artister inden for Folk, Roots og Country på en platform, der i forvejen samler den toneangivende nationale og internationale musikbranche. Samtidig vil der blive inviteret delegerede til festivalen med særligt fokus på roots-genrerne, så artisterne får direkte adgang til relevante, nye kontakter og professionelle netværk.
SPOT Roots blev præsenteret første gang til SPOT 2025 en håndfuld navne under samme koncept. Fra 2026 udvides SPOT Roots med flere pladser til artister og orkestre fra genrerne, hvilket giver endnu bedre muligheder for vækst, synlighed og nye samarbejder.
Der er Open Call til SPOT Roots fra 5. januar til og med 23. januar, hvor artister og orkestre inden for Folk, Roots og Country kan ansøge om at blive en del af initiativet. Kriterierne for at ansøge er, at musikken skal falde inden for roots-, country- eller folk-genren, og at ansøgeren er baseret i enten Danmark, Norge eller Sverige.
