A new era for emerging music professionals in the Nordics has begun with the launch of Nordic Incubator, the latest branch of the Live Incubator initiative. Building on the momentum of its European pilot program, Nordic Incubator expands the focus to include both artists and industry talents from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Greenland, strengthening collaboration and innovation across the Nordic music landscape.
Live Incubator first launched in January 2024 as a transnational program created by SPOT Festival, Scala, and Fermaten, with support from the European Cultural Region and Tuborg Foundation. Its mission: to unite entrepreneurial young industry practitioners across borders to co-create solutions for the future of live music. The inaugural program gathered 20 emerging professionals from Central Jutland and across Europe for months of development, culminating in a three-day creative sprint and final presentations at SPOT+.
With proven success and strong demand, the program continued in 2025 with 20 new young professionals coming together during SPOT Festival. And now the project is expanding its reach even further.
A Nordic Collaboration for the Future of Music
Nordic Incubator 2025/26 marks the first dedicated Nordic edition of the concept. Participants will work across borders to rethink the future of the live sector, develop new approaches to music export, and strengthen showcase and touring infrastructure. The year-long program combines co-creation, professional development, and real-world project building, centering on key shared challenges such as sustainability, representation and mental well-being.
The partners in the project are the four Nordic showcase festivals, Viva Sounds (Sweden), Trondheim Calling (Norway), Arctic Sounds (Greenland), and SPOT Festival (Denmark), each of which will host visits from the participating emerging artists and industry professionals. Frontløberne is also a partner and will document the program along the way.
The goal is clear: build a more connected, resilient, and future-ready Nordic music market. The incubator will foster long-term partnerships, empower the next generation of industry shapers, and share insights with the wider sector to inspire new models and collaborations.
As Live Incubator enters its next phase, Nordic Incubator stands as a new initiative, fueling innovation, expanding networks, and ensuring the Nordic region continues to lead in building a vibrant, sustainable future for live music.

En ny æra for spirende musikprofessionelle i Norden er begyndt med lanceringen af Nordic Incubator, den nyeste gren af Live Incubator-initiativet. Med afsæt i momentum fra det europæiske pilotprogram udvider Nordic Incubator fokus til både at inkludere artister og branchetalenter fra Danmark, Norge, Sverige og Grønland for at styrke samarbejde og innovation på tværs af den nordiske musikscene.
Live Incubator blev første gang lanceret i januar 2024 som et europæisk program skabt af SPOT Festival, Scala og Fermaten, med støtte fra Europæisk Kulturregion og Tuborgfondet. Missionen var klar: at samle entreprenante unge brancheaktører på tværs af grænser for i fællesskab at skabe løsninger til fremtidens livemusik. Det første program samlede 20 unge professionelle fra Midtjylland og Europa til nogle måneder med workshops og udvikling, som kulminerede i en tre-dages kreativ sprint og præsentationer under SPOT+.
Med dokumenteret succes og stor efterspørgsel fortsatte programmet i 2025, hvor endnu et hold på 20 unge professionelle mødtes under SPOT Festival. Og nu udvider projektet sin rækkevidde yderligere.
Et nordisk samarbejde for musikkens fremtid
Nordic Incubator 2025/26 markerer den første dedikerede nordiske udgave af konceptet. Deltagerne skal arbejde på tværs af landegrænser for at gentænke fremtiden for livesektoren, udvikle nye tilgange til musikeksport og styrke showcase- og turnéstrukturer. Partnerne i projektet er de fire nordiske showcasefestivaler Viva Sounds (Sverige), Trondheim Calling (Norge), Arctic Sounds (Grønland) og SPOT Festival (Danmark), der alle vil danne rammerne for besøg fra de involverede artister og branchefolk on the rise. Frontløberne er også med som partner for at dokumentere forløbet undervejs.
Det et-årige program kombinerer samskabelse, faglig udvikling og konkret projektarbejde med fokus på centrale fælles udfordringer som bæredygtighed, repræsentation og mental trivsel.
Målet er tydeligt: at bygge et mere forbundet, modstandsdygtigt og fremtidssikret nordisk musikmarked. Inkubatoren vil fremme langvarige partnerskaber, give næste generation af brancheformere værktøjerne til at skabe forandring og dele viden med den bredere sektor for at inspirere nye modeller og samarbejder.
Når Live Incubator går ind i sin næste fase, står Nordic Incubator som en ny milepæl – en katalysator for innovation og netværk, der skal sikre, at Norden fortsat går forrest i udviklingen af en levende og bæredygtig fremtid for livemusik.
