Step into a world of sound and image, where time and space dissolve. Percussionist and composer Ying-Hsueh Chen and artist Rikke Benborg invite you on a sensory journey through their experimental films, where scenography, sound, and performer merge into a living, abstract universe.
At SPOT, they present Mani.Matta (2019) and Dark Radiance (2023), with Chen as the sole performer. Mani.Matta suspends linear time and space with vivid, shifting scenography, while Dark Radiance, shot on 8 mm black-and-white film, meditates on optical and sonic phenomena. Both films evoke a “vintage avant-garde” feel, where shifting perspectives create a breathing, abstract unity of sound and image.
