Downtown July describe themselves as a Central Jutland love invasion—and in 2025 the band went from promise to a defining force on the national scene. With a string of successful singles, the title Ugens Uundgåelige on P3, a win in KarriereKanonen, and an extensive autumn tour with 15 concerts across Denmark and Norway, the band cemented their position on the Danish music scene. The year culminated in a critically acclaimed and grand tour finale at Train in Aarhus.
Now the next chapter follows. In February, Downtown July released their long-awaited debut album ‘Kravler før vi går’ - an album that encapsulates six years of development, friendship, and artistic ambition. The album was released on the band’s own record label, produced by Anders Boll (Ganger, Nephew, Rigmor, among others), and created right in the heart of Aarhus in the Sydhavnen district. Musically, it moves in a space where high poetry meets casual cheekiness, and where introverted emotions are shouted out over pumping grooves and gripping melodies. It sounds as if TV-2 had a late-born sibling with PATINA - familiar, yet entirely its own.
