Soap Horse is a unique amalgamation of country and experimental rock, hailing from the renowned alternative scene of Copenhagen. With Hans Gustav Björklund Moulvad in front as singer, guitarist and songwriter, Soap Horse shifts seamlessly between grandiose orchestral arrangements and minimalist country flavoured modes.
Pedal steels, violins and saxophones whirl around lyrics both surreal and emotional. The music of Soap Horse feels like a continuously expanding and collapsing pulse out of time and place. Soap Horse is based in both London and Copenhagen, where Hans Gustav has worked with John Parish (PJ Harvey) and Mikko Gordon (The Smile, IDLES) among others. These collaborations have surmounted in the debut EP ‘Tooth Inside a Tooth’ released in 2025.
Soap Horse opened as a solo act for The Raveonettes on their U.S. tour in June 2024 and have since performed all across Europe and the UK, opening for acts such as Elias Rønnenfeldt, Baby In Vain and Alan Sparhawk (Low). Soap Horse also debuted at Roskilde Festival in 2025, with a band beset by stars from the Copenhagen alternative scene to rave reviews from critics and audiences alike.
