Come along once again as you are invited to The Folky Day Party, where the many facets of folk music are showcased. Look forward to some delightful hours filled with enchanting folk, as Twang, The Mukherjee Development, Louise Støjberg?Martin Rauff, and MC Hansen present the very best they have to offer.
A concert with Twang is unpredictable. It's filled with humor and warmth when the three musicians take the stage and gather around their shared microphone. Twang is known for their presence, honesty, and close connection with both the audience and each other. It’s not unusual for their concerts to bring both tears to the eye and loud laughter shared with the band.
If you had to put The Mukherjee Development in a musical box, it would be the one labeled “musical class.” They are a unique musical collective, whether you experience them live or on record - and now you can do both. Meet a group of ambassadors for sunshine and handcrafted music.
The couple Støjberg-Rauff debuted as a duo with the album Appetite for Distraction (Go’ Danish Folk) in the fall of 2017. The album follows a tradition rooted in storytelling and contains nods to American folk music, Scandinavian folk, and the rock and blues that have been part of their lives since their youth. Their expression is acoustic, defined by the two musicians' voices - together and individually.
Storyteller, songwriter, and guitarist M.C. Hansen sets a new course for his musical narratives with his new band SPEKTAKEL, filled with vivid imagery and references to everyday life and the village we call “Denmark.” Rich in metaphor and focused on the musical staging of storytelling, a concert with M.C. Hansen is a reflection of everyday miracles and the colorful cast of characters that populate them.
