School of X is the stage name of Danish musician Rasmus Littauer, who has been releasing music under this alias since 2017. He is known for his internationally acclaimed albums and collaborations with artists such as Liss, Trentemøller, and MØ.
Rasmus Littauer found inspiration for School of X during his runs in Copenhagen and other major cities worldwide while touring as MØ’s live drummer. Before he started running, he had a vast amount of creative energy and a strong urge to create, but he didn't know how to unleash it or find the strength to turn it into reality. Running still provides him with the necessary clarity and energy to create his own music.
On November 1, 2024, School of X released his third studio album, ‘Seventh Heaven’. The album explores the pursuit of absolute happiness and perfection as a utopia while holding onto the hope of reaching it. During the recording process, Littauer changed direction by bringing a new band into the studio and handing over the producer role to Søren Buhl Lassen. This allowed for a renewed focus on songwriting and captured the intense live energy of School of X's concerts.
The album has received praise for its grand indie-pop sound. GAFFA described it as a "magnificent celestial journey with an all-or-nothing pop album that quickly takes flight." Soundvenue highlighted the combination of longing lyrics and energetic songwriting, creating a sense of fresh air and wind in the hair as the adrenaline rushes forward.
