For KROGEN, aka Lasse Krog, country music is all about energy, emotions, and creating something you can both tear up the dance floor to and cry your heart out to.

Country music has been KROGEN’s great love ever since he first listened to Waylon Jennings - the outlaw icon who turned Nashville and country music upside down in the ‘70s when he became one of the first country stars to muster the courage to break free from the genre’s rigid rules and conventions. And KROGEN shares that same urge to do things his own way.

The musical legacy of Waylon was evident on KROGEN’s 2022 debut album, ‘Henover Lakken’ - a festive, rebellious, and at times heartfelt tribute to everything that makes country music iconic. However, with his new songs, he is stepping into the genre’s more pop-oriented future - without forgetting its past.

 

For KROGEN, alias Lasse Krog, handler country om energi, følelser og om at skabe noget, man både kan vælte rundt til og tude til. 

Countrymusikken har været KROGENs store kærlighed, siden han første gang lyttede til Waylon Jennings, outlaw-ikonet, der vendte bunden i vejret på Nashville og countrymusikken i 70’erne, da han, som en af de første countrystjerner, mønstrede modet til at bryde med genrens rigide regler og konventioner. Og KROGEN har samme trang til at gøre tingene på sin egen måde. 

Den musikalske arv fra Waylon var tydelig på Krogens debutalbum, ‘Henover Lakken’, fra 2022; en festlig, fandenivoldsk og til tider følsom hyldest til alt det, der gør countrymusikken ikonisk. På de nye sange handler det imidlertid om at stemple ind i genrens mere poppede fremtid - uden at glemme dens fortid.
