How do we create work environments and recruitment processes that promote well-being and representation?
Another Life delves into the importance of well-being and equal access—and why these elements are essential in ensuring a more inclusive and representative music industry. Drawing on practical tools from Another Life’s handbook, Social Sustainability and Recruitment, we will explore together how to initiate the necessary changes that strengthen both workplace culture in general and the focus on representation.
The presentation and subsequent discussion exercises are based on Another Life’s five fundamental principles for promoting social sustainability:
1) Social sustainability across the entire organization – A focus across all levels of power and departments.
2) Sustainable working conditions – Emphasizing employee well-being, fair working conditions, and long-term solutions.
3) Responsible leadership – Leadership practices that promote and take responsibility for transparency, empathy, and equality.
4) Understanding and reducing discrimination – Active efforts to identify and reduce discriminatory structures and behaviors.
5) Using data as a tool to measure impact – Utilizing data to evaluate and improve initiatives and changes.
This presentation will inspire, engage, and provide tools on how we can collectively foster a fairer music industry.
Another Life is an award-winning non-profit organization working to increase representation and improve conditions in the Danish music and cultural sectors. Through data and research, we create practice-oriented tools and knowledge, which we share with the Danish cultural industry through workshops, consultations, talks, and community events.
