A trademark of the Aarhus skyline is the City Hall, which stands tall with it’s 60 meter bell tower. It was drawn by famous Danish designer Arne Jacobsen and inaugurated in 1941. The building was designed to be modernistic, and therefor imitates the modern material concrete, but in fact the entire building is covered in 6.000 square meters of Norwegian marble. Weekly tours of the building open up the heart of Aarhus’ democracy to the public.
