Since her early teenage years, Smokey has cultivated her tireless interest in electronic music. With technical perfectionism and a sensitive understanding of mood, she effortlessly weaves tracks together across genres and time periods, juggling freshly cut dubplates with ancient gems.
A Smokey DJ set is equal parts love and respect for music but gives zero fucks for traditional genre divisions and conventions. Bootlegs, vocal samples, bass, breaks, electro, and dubstep are woven together into a tapestry that envelops the audience, creating a vacuum where sound shapes reality like clay and morphs time and space into new dimensions.
With nearly 15 years in the game, Smokey's unique approach and energetic pursuit of honing her craft have brought her to some of club culture's strongholds like Berghain, Boiler Room, Ibiza, and Roskilde Festival, while maintaining contact with small dark basements with big sound systems.
