While the international market may have become less crucial for Danish mainstream artists (see the panel on Glocalisation), it remains an absolute necessity for a broad range of niche-oriented artists spanning from death metal and jazz to roots and alternative pop and rock. Here, Denmark is simply too small a market in itself. However, it is certainly not without challenges for those venturing into this territory. Several questions and desires to strengthen this area arise:
What are the specific challenges? What is the competitive situation post-pandemic and with a persistent inflation? How can a more sustainable business be created for niches and alternative pop and rock? Do we have the right expertise, and is it distributed correctly?
These are some of the questions that this panel will explore.
