If you want to finish of your SPOT 2024 with a dance party that lasts all night look to Volume Village, where Favorite Things Aarhus invite you to an afterparty saturday night with soulful rap from CHIEF and a strong DJ lineup consisting of Jolie Kubini, Simon Alejandro and Malte Sanggaard. 

CHIEF is a soulful rapper, who with rhythmic consciousness, creates a new wave of activism through music.

Based in Copenhagen, born in Aarhus and of Tanzanian descent, Jolie explores sounds from Africa and the African diaspora. From beats with Highlife samples to Gqom, Kuduro and beyond, she aspires to bring you unique selections, old and new, that are not necessarily found on the top music charts. Jolie has been spinning records on various stages in Denmark, Uganda and Sweden spreading heaps of knowledge and soul.

Simon Alejandro, the daily leader of the Norwegian cultural organization Jungelen, plays music from Guadeloupe, Cape Verde, Congo, Colombia, and Algeria. Alejandro makes things happen in Bergen and has been a leading entrepreneur for the music community in the city for many years as an organizer, DJ, workshop coordinator, and community builder both locally and internationally.

The leader of the initiative Favorite Things, Malte Sanggaard, has built a strong reputation as a DJ in recent years. With a curious approach and a broad taste, Malte manages to shape the soundscapes for anything from a calm rainy day to a cozy dance evening. Malte Sanggaard loves exploring musical trends and stories from around the world. As a DJ, he blends genres and styles, surprising listeners and expanding horizons. In recent years, he has performed at festivals and clubs in Aarhus, Copenhagen, and Bergen, as well as on radio stations in New York and Montpellier.


Hvis du vil lukke din SPOT 2024 med en dansefest, der varer hele natten, så kig mod Volume Village, hvor Favorite Things Aarhus inviterer til afterparty lørdag nat med sjælfuld rap fra CHIEF og et stærkt DJ-lineup bestående af Jolie Kubini, Simon Alejandro og Malte Sanggaard

CHIEF er en sjælfuld rapper, der med rytmisk bevidsthed skaber en ny bølge af aktivisme gennem sin musik.

Baseret i København og født i Aarhus med tanzanianske rødder, udforsker Jolie lyde fra Afrika og den afrikanske diaspora. Med alt lige fra rytmer med Highlife-samples til Gqom og Kuduro, stræber hun efter at præsenterer dig for unikke numre, som ikke nødvendigvis findes øverst på hitlisterne. Jolie har spillet på scener i både Danmark, Uganda og Sverige, hvilket har givet hende både spændvidde og sjæl.

Simon Alejandro, daglig leder i den norske kulturorganisation Jungelen, spiller musik fra Guadeloupe, Kapp Verde, Kongo, Colombia og Algeriet. Alejandro får ting til at ske i Bergen og har i mange år været en ledende entreprenør for musikmiljøet i byen som arrangør, DJ, workshop-ansvarlig og community-skaber både lokalt og internationalt. 

Leder af initiativet Favorite Things, Malte Sanggaard, har de seneste år opbygget et stærkt renommé som DJ. Med en nysgerrig tilgang og en bred smag, formår Malte at forme lydtapetet til alt fra en rolig regnvejrsdag til en lun danseaften.
Malte Sanggaard elsker at undersøge musikalske tendenser og historier fra hele verden. Som DJ blander han genrer og stilarter, så lytteren overraskes og horisonter udvides. De seneste år har han spillet på festivaler og klubber i Aarhus, København og Bergen, samt radiostationer i bl.a. New York og Montpellier.
