The sibling ensemble døssing blends Nordic modern jazz with musical influences from lounge and dub.
In 2022 døssing released their debut album ‘All Inclusive’, which was a narrative-guided, auditory journey through a hotel-inspired universe. The album was Album of the Week on P8 Jazz with frequent rotation and received great reviews from GAFFA and Information among others.
Their sound is characterized by the meeting between the acoustic and the electronic, and it is clear that the group comes from a background where music and creative input have played a significant role. As children of the folktronica pioneers from Sorten Muld and with much of their childhood spent in the co-housing community Toustrup Mark in East Jutland, the members have been immersed in music, community, and co-creation from an early age.
døssing emerged after an interval where each of the siblings was occupied with other musical projects such as Abekejser, AySay, and Total Hip Replacement, but wanted to make music together.
In addition to siblings Mathilde Døssing Bendixen (Trombone/Vocals), Aske Døssing Bendixen (Drums), Jon Døssing Bendixen (Keys/Synthesizer), Annestine Døssing Bendixen (Trumpet/Speak), the group has expanded the family with the permanent member Thit Helbo Møller (Percussion).
Døssing will tour with new music throughout Denmark in September 2024.
