The Danish pop rebel Asbjørn is one of a kind. An indie darling with a wildcard to the mainstream. In his pop laboratory, where polyrhythms, melancholia, and electronic playfulness collide, Asbjørn stands firmly and remains true to himself. And it works - both Lykke Li and Tessa have praised his talent, and in 2022 Asbjørn was featured on the single ‘Farver’ with the latter.
His inspiration stretches from classical music and folk, which his parents played when he was a child, to Destiny’s Child, Britney, and Michael Jackson, whose songs he used to choreograph dance routines to when he came home from school.
Asbjørn's latest album, ‘Boyology’ (2022), featured collaborations with PC Music’s Danny L Harle (Charli XCX, Caroline Polachek, Dua Lipa) and Planningtorock (Lady Gaga, Robyn). The follow-up is scheduled for release in 2024.
