“I give SPOT ten Danish hotdogs out of ten”…

“I give SPOT ten Danish hot dogs out of ten”…står der i engelske Clash Magazines review: “SPOT Festival 2019 delivers fully on creativity, innovation and surprise, which makes it one of the most relevant festivals”. London In Stereo skrev ““A phenomenal selection of music and culture”, mens The 405 mener: “The standard of the Scandinavian musicians was exceptional ” Nedenfor har vi samlet den foreløbige buket af roser:

Drowned in Sound (UK) Det UK-baserede musiktidsskrift Drowned in Sound kalder SPOT en af de førende showcase-festivaler:
SPOT has firmly established itself as one of the leading events of its kind. Attracting a global audience of fans and delegates along with an array of the best musical talent Scandinavia has to offer, it’s become known as the Nordic South By Southwest for a good reason.”

”SPOT Festival 2019 delivers fully on creativity, innovation and surprise, which makes it one of the most relevant festivals. With a finger placed right on the pulse targeting, not only where music is at but also where it is heading, makes this festival a complete must for anyone who needs and wants to be ahead of the game, rather than just be in there for the sake of it.

The 405 (UK) Det britiske kultursite The 405 roser i deres festival-reportage SPOTs omgivelser og scener samt artisternes høje niveau – de fremhæver især Josephin Bovién, Erika De Casier, Efterklang, Chinah, Selma Judith, norske Pish, islandske Special K og norske Iris.
“The standard of the Scandinavian musicians was exceptional […] SPOT Festival was a reminder of the incredible acts that have already come out of Denmark and its surrounding territories.”

The Skinny (UK) Det uafhængige kultursite The Skinny konstaterer at der stadig er masser af stort talent på den nordiske musikscene: “Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, and with its focus firmly on showcasing up-and- coming Danish and Scandinavian acts, since 1994 SPOT has been responsible for helping local artists launch their career to a wider audience.”

Louder / Metal Hammer (UK) Magasinet Metal Hammer var stærkt tilfreds med metal-eventet på Train.

London In Stereo (UK)
Livemusik-guiden London In Stereo (illustration ovenfor) skriver i sin trykte udgave:
“A phenomenal selection of music and culture” og: “a festival that will undoubtedly flourish in years to come”. “Half conference and half locally-popular music festival, spread over the cities best venues, it has everything from a silent metal disco to a whole host of incredible food stalls to keep you amused.”

Radiostationen KEXP (US)

RADIO 1, “WONDERLAND” (BE)
RADIO SIRIUSXM, “The Writers Block” (US)
Efter hjemkomsten fra Danmark og SPOT 2019 hastede den amerikanske musikjournalist David Fricke i studiet for at lave en ”on the road”-udsendelse delt mellem New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival og dansk musik / SPOT i et timelangt indslag på betalingskanalen SiriusXM under titlen ‘The Writers Block’. Indslagene fra denne side af Atlanten var: –
A mixture of surf and spaghetti western guitar” med Tremolo Beer Gut (oplevet ved Crunchy Frogs jubilæums-gilde under SPOT)
A great art pop band with a lot of Ideas”, Efterklang,
A coming thing, power trio” The Entrepreneurs,
A band I first saw at my Inaugural experience at the SPOT festival 2002”, Saybia
A great new hard rock quartet”, Redwolves
– og endelig The Raveonettes, ”that was the band that I saw on my first trip to Aarhus to the SPOT festival in 2002, and really began my whole love affair with contemporary Danish music ”– inklusive en varm hilsen til journalist-kollega Jan Sneum, som han netop oplevede denne SPOT-historiske koncert sammen med.

GIGWISE (UK)
Musiksitet Gigwise blev igen positivt overrasket over variationen på SPOT:
“However many years you’ve come to SPOT – and it’s been running for 25 now – something new will always smack you slap-bang in the musical solar-plexus.”

ENOLA, Kultursite (BE)
The Entrepreneurs, Sara Lew, The Bowdashes, Selma Judith, Ida Kudo, Special-K, Fufanu. Bind By Law og Nive Nielsen & Deer Children fra årets godtepose.
